Having a place of business almost guarantees you can be found on Google Maps\, and you have a free Google Directory which tells about your business. Yes\, you are in the world of digital marketing.\nBut how much of it do you understand? Is your Google Directory verified? What does that mean anyway? Do you need a Google Directory?\nThese questions and others about digital marketing will be discussed by 1966 NK graduate and long-time business owner\, Rex-Zane Rudee “Rex”\, at the February chamber luncheon.\nRudee owned Hudson Photographic Artistry in downtown Bremerton for 35 years before selling it in May 2015. Since that time\, he has been playing with his grandchildren\, substitute teaching in the CK and Bremerton school districts\, and just last summer\, working for Rebranding360\, a Google Trusted Agency\, as a photographer and company representative.\n“When I had my business\, we had a web page and Facebook which is all the digital marketing I thought we needed\,” he related. “I didn’t even know we had a Google Directory.”\n“I left all the digital stuff to my younger staff\, and never thought much about it\,” he added.\nHis blissful ignorance quickly came to an end when he started working as a Google Trusted Agent.\n“To explain to business owners how the free Google Directory works and how to use it to attract new clients\, I had to learn about network marketing\, SEO\, GYBO\, and other strange and unfamiliar terms and strategies\,” he said. “I felt I’d been living under a cloud with no idea there was a sun.”\nBut as he began to visit businesses\, Rudee found many owners were wandering in the same cloud which obscured the mystery of internet marketing.
